Cognitive Science studies focus on brain function and behavior. These studies are carried out by analyzing the function of the mind in the context of several disciplines, including philosophy, psychology, computation science, linguistics and cognitive neuroscience. Cognitive neuroscience is a branch of both neuroscience and psychology, overlapping with disciplines such as behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, physiological psychology and affective neuroscience. Cognitive neuroscience relies upon theories in cognitive science coupled with evidence from neurobiology, and computational modeling. Cognitive neuroscience has emerged over the past decades as one of the most significant research directions in all of neuroscience and psychology. More recently, the scientific interface between cognitive neuroscience and human development, developmental cognitive neuroscience, has become a hot topic. Cognitive neuroscience draws from linguistics, neuroscience, psychology and cognitive science.
